This is the only Purple track I have seen. It has obviously been here for a long time. The extra lane in the west turn indicated a modification from Imperial to Metric. The long chute, now used for the Pole Vault and Long Jump area indicates a once 220 yard straightaway, perhaps used by alumni Tommie Smith before he advanced to the famous 19.5. There are lots of youth hurdle marks along side the track.
