This is perhaps the most spectacular view you will ever find at a track stadium. The east side of the stadium has no stands (in fact, there is no THERE there, just a steep drop off) and with the removal of the trees on that side of the stadium in this renovation, suddenly a view of the San Francisco Bay has opened up.
With the fake grass surface, the long throws are usually neglected. Not here. They have been given their own field, on a pad behind the hillside stands, complete with Mondo Javelin runway and a full hammer quality cage. With the rings above and also in the stadium, they are over-equipped for shot put.
