Some of the pictures have some unnatural distortion as I have blended photos
for the wide panoramic effect.
Cal Poly, Pomona
This is facing
south. This had to deal with the size legacy of the previous seven lane track
that was ruined by overwatering (every night with notably reclaimed water).
The previous track was so damaged the lane lines washed away. Part of the old
surface remains at the far end of the backstretch. In the re-construction they
built two sprint straightaways with two different finish lines. While I was
there the sprinklers started watering the high jump pit which I also assume
to be a daily or nightly occurrence.
The sprint straightaways have two sets of lane lines. The 8 lanes from full
circumference and the green six lane version for full NCAA width sprints and
hurdles.
